Before you reach out
A few quick answers
These cover what we're asked most. If yours isn't here, the form below comes straight to us.
Can I get extra or replacement lids?
Every Olla ships with a lid included. If yours arrives missing, we'll send a free replacement — just send us your order number so we can confirm the right size.
Note: our lids are made to fit Olla Company products only, and won't fit other brands' pieces.
Which size should I choose?
Olla Pots — pick by how much ground you need to cover:
Mini · waters up to 1 ft across — small pots, herbs
Small · up to 2 ft across — raised beds, containers
Large · up to 3 ft across — large beds, in-ground gardens
When in doubt, size up — a Large needs less frequent refilling. Just make sure it can be buried up to its neck with room for roots.
Olla Spikes — pick by pot diameter:
Small · 4–6 in pots
Medium · 5–9 in pots
Large · 8–12 in pots
For floor plants in pots over 12 in, two spikes on opposite sides give even coverage.
How many do I need for my garden or bed?
Space Ollas so their watering zones overlap slightly, so no part of the bed dries out. A rough guide:
Single tomato or pepper → 1 Large · 2×4 ft bed → 2 Small · 2×8 ft bed → 4 Small · 3×6 ft bed → 2 Large · 4×8 ft bed → 3 Large.
Gardens vary with soil, plant density, and climate. If you're not sure, send us your bed size below and we'll help you work it out.
Where do you ship, and is it free?
We ship anywhere in the United States. Most orders ship the same day; all ship within 1–2 business days (excluding holidays).
Free shipping is available on orders of $99 or more. Many orders also qualify for reduced-rate shipping — the exact cost is calculated by location at checkout.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Reach out and we'll make it right. Everything we make is backed by our satisfaction guarantee — if anything arrives damaged, defective, or missing, we'll replace it.
Will it keep my plants watered while I travel?
Yes — it's one of the main reasons people buy them. Fill the Olla before you leave and your plants draw what they need while you're away. For longer trips, set an inverted water bottle into the neck of the Pot or Spike to extend the reservoir.
Where are your Ollas made?
Our Ollas are made from natural, unglazed clay and lightly kiln-fired — the same traditional process potters have used for centuries. Each piece is slip-cast and hand-finished by skilled makers in China, then inspected before it ships, so the slight variations in color and texture you'll see are normal and part of what makes each one its own.
